Karman and Dharma. The Vision of the World in Indian Philosophical Thought

Karman and Dharma. The Vision of the World in Indian Philosophical Thought

Marta Kudelska, Karman and Dharma. Vision of the World in the Indian Philosophical Thought [Karman i Dharma. Wizja świata w filozoficznej myśli Indii], Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, Kraków 2003.

"The book revolves around two terms illuminated in the title: karman and dharma, which have appeared in all philosophical schools of India from Antiquity to the Modern Era. Their various functions depend on the ontological context, so this book is devoted to various ontological and epistemological approaches within Indian philosophy. […] The book concludes with the remark that the basic feature of the worldview emerging from Indian philosophy, despite its numerous transformations and differences between particular schools, is a common vision of the world. The problems approached by the author can prove very interesting for a broader audience."

From the review of Prof. Dr hab. Beata Szymańska

The book was nominated for the Jan Długosz prize
