Tajikistan–Badakhshan

The seminar was devoted to the analysis of the political and socio-cultural situation of Tajikistan and particularly of the Nagorno-Badahshan province.

13th-15th March 2010, The Centre for the Comparative Studies of Civilizations, Main Square 34, 3rd floor, room no 33

The seminar was devoted to the analysis of the political and socio-cultural situation of Tajikistan and particularly of the Nagorno-Badahshan province. The problem was approached against the background of the current situation of Central Asia as well as in the broader historical context. The meeting was attended by academicians from Poland (Jagiellonian University, Warsaw University, Polish Academy of Science), Great Britain (The Institute of Ismaili Studies in London) and Tajikistan (University of Central Asia in Khorog and its branch in Dushanbe).

This seminar was a part of a research project conducted by the Centre and devoted to the issue of identity in the Nagorno-Badahshan province. The project was coordinated by Dr. Marek Moroń, who did the fieldwork with his students in this region.
